AI Governance, Digital Economy, and HR Transformation to Focus at AIBP 2024 Conference
SWA | 9 August 2024
AIBP Conference and Exhibition 2024 on 6-7 August 2024 supported by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, discusses key technology challenges and opportunities in Indonesia. The forum brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and community members to foster innovation, teamwork, and partnerships.
Irza Fauzan Suprapto, CFA, as CEO of Industry Platform Singapore, the organizer of the AIBP Conference and Exhibition 2024, explained that this discussion was motivated by the fact that although Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers many benefits, public concerns about its use are still high.
To address these issues, strong regulation is needed, especially around privacy and intellectual property. Effective AI governance involves collaboration between policymakers, industry leaders, and the public to ensure the ethical and practical use of AI.
The 2024 AIBP Innovation Survey highlighted that 82% of Indonesian respondents see privacy and security issues as the main barriers to AI adoption. Addressing these challenges is critical to accelerating AI innovation in Indonesia.
In addition, Indonesia's digital economy has promising potential if given the right support in the field of HR (Human Resources) training and infrastructure. Bridging the skills gap through extensive digital competency training is key to unlocking the full potential of AI and automation technologies. Strategic investments in integrated data platforms, data analytics, business intelligence software, and increased connectivity will drive significant digital transformation and progress.
