KUALA LUMPUR (April 10): The central banks of Malaysia and Thailand signed a pact on Thursday to strengthen joint efforts in cybersecurity and digital fraud protection.

The memorandum of understanding signed between Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and Bank of Thailand (BOT) also promotes a closer working relationship, allowing more information sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of best practices, according to a joint statement.

“This partnership with Bank of Thailand will significantly deepen our cooperation in cybersecurity and the fight against digital fraud,” said BNM Governor Datuk Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour.
