TAGUIG, Philippines — Canada reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its cybersecurity partnership with the Philippines by providing expert training to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC).

Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines David Hartman made this commitment during his visit to the National Cybercrime Hub (NCH) in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City on March 10.

Moreover, the ambassador commended the CICC for its outstanding efforts in fighting cybercrime. The CICC and Canada’s Cyber Center, the country’s authority on cybersecurity, would benefit both nations. Sami Khoury, the former head of the Canadian Cyber Center from 2021 to 2024, leads this expert training.

“This collaboration is also part of Canada’s broader strategy to establish a secure economic corridor in the region, ensuring safe and resilient digital infrastructure for trade and investment,” Ambassador Hartman said.

Also, CICC Executive Director Alexander K. Ramos lauded this partnership with Canada.
